Enters Wake County 2 miles south of Zebulon. Leaves 1.5 miles north of the intersection with NC 98.
Major Intersections:	Business 64 and NC 97 in Zebulon. M-Business 64 through northern Zebulon. US 64/US 264 at the Zebulon city limits. US 401 northeast of Rolesville. NC 98 just north of there. Not much around either intersection.
History:	96 is a relative newcomer; it was first numbered in 1952.  The road north of Zebulon to NC 98 was formerly NC 264, an extension of US 264. North of the current 96/98 intersection, what is now 96 was formerly 98. There haven't been any other changes since the road was introduced to the county.
Attractions:	If you're a farm geek, 96 is your kind of road. If you aren't, you'll be bored senseless.
